Press Conference for Presidential Candidate Cynthia McKinney
Local Party Activists Expected to Share Endorsement for Campaign

There will be a press conference where Cynthia McKinney will introduce herself to Minnesotans as a Presidential Candidate seeking the Green Party nomination. The press conference will be held 10:30AM Monday December 10th at the Midway Exchange Building in the Greenway Level Conference Room.

Cynthia McKinney is known for her integrity on many issues including exposing the systematic disenfranchisement of African American voters in the 2000 and 2004 elections. McKinney, who withdrew her membership from Democratic Party in March 2007, is now a member of the Green Party.

The former Democratic congresswoman from Georgia has got a new website up -- www. runcynthiarun.org -- which seeks campaign contributions "so we can get on with the business of getting Cynthia on fifty-one ballots and reaching out to the voters of this nation who are ready for a Green alternative to the wars being waged both at home and abroad by the War Parties and their candidates."

Cynthia McKinney is hoping to rally support for her candidacy and understands the importance of impact the Green Party has made with in the last few years in Minnesota. The Green Party is a minor party where many endorsed candidates have won elected positions throughout the state of Minnesota. In Minneapolis, there are currently one City Council member and one Park Board member that are Green Party endorsed elected officials.

Many individuals from all political spectrums are excited by Cynthia McKinney's candidacy and are looking forward to supporting her in this upcoming election year. She told her Illinois supporters in a thank you note that "we are going to have to do things we have never done before if we are going to have things we have never had before," such as democracy and authentic representation.

McKinney will participate in several campaign fund raising events in Minneapolis.
